Observed in the Concierge Lounge, in the Summit Suites at Harrah's Lake Tahoe:



Someone went to a lot of effort to put that card under the table's glass top. I wonder who. Probably not the butler.



I'm also curious if there's an explanation on the other side, but not enough to remove the glass top and find out. It's about 10 square feet and looks awkward and heavy.

It looks like something that could have been there for quite some time, particularly if the plant were on top of it.

I considered that, but the plant is neatly centered on the table (which you can't see in the photo), and they tidy the area at least daily. It seems unlikely that the card would have been hidden for long.

You know, it occurs to me that I bet you could lift up the glass just a smidge and slide/flick a card pretty far under it much, much more easily than getting it back out again. Though it would take a bit of luck or skill to end up with the text facing forward using that technique.
